Satin ribbon

In a satin weave fabric, the bindings (points of crossing between warp and weft) are spaced out, so as to create a smooth and soft surface, with no apparent weft, and a matt surface (there are also double-sided satin ribbons, which have 2 shiny surfaces). The silk satin technique was invented in China over 2000 years ago…

Satin is not a material but a weaving process; it can be made of silk, but also of cotton, polyester, nylon… depending on its final use.

Eco-friendly materials can be used, such as organic cotton, recycled polyester and ecojean.

Satin ribbon has a characteristically bright appearance and is often used in decoration and packaging. The use of polyester in the manufacturing process allows for customised designs to be printed on the tape.

Our weaving workshop offers you the creation of satin ribbon in different materials, with a finish adapted to your creative project. Many colours are available to create different atmospheres in your packaging or clothing project.
